ABOUT ME
John D.
Robinson, MD is a fellowship trained Sports
Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in advanced knee and
shoulder arthroscopy as well as shoulder, robotic knee and anterior hip joint replacement. Completing
his fellowship
training with Tahoe Orthopedics and Mammoth Orthopedic Institute, he regularly treated complex mountain
extremity
injuries with an emphasis on the most innovative and minimally invasive techniques. His experience with
cutting-edge
procedures, such as ACL Repair, Bridge Enhanced ACL Restoration (BEAR), and shoulder arthroplasty using
patient-specific
computerized planning, provides a unique solution that preserves or restores native anatomy and
function. In addition to
managing sports medicine pathology and arthritis, Dr. Robinson routinely takes orthopedic surgery trauma
call at several
local hospitals and manages a variety of upper and lower extremity fractures throughout Hays and Comal
counties.
He is currently involved with the US Men's and Women's Ski and Snowboard Teams and is a co-team physician for Texas State University. By providing care to patients from all walks of life ‐ from Olympic medalists to recreational athletes, he understands the importance of developing a treatment plan that is personalized for each patient’s unique goals.
Dr. Robinson is married to his wife, Macie, who is a Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner in Lockhart. They live in San Marcos
and are passionate about living in and serving the surrounding communities. He is an avid outdoorsman
that enjoys
fly-fishing, archery, elk/deer hunting, skiing/snowboarding, football, basketball, pickleball, and
golf.
